Social Development department reiterates determination to enhancing SASSA services

Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her guidance and commitment to improving upon South African Social Security Company (SASSA) expert services through an engagement while using the agency's senior supervisors in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled while in the 2024 matric exams.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing eighty one% in the registered pupils in the schooling sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates the financial commitment national government is generating in the lives of inadequate and vulnerable small children is yielding a constructive impact in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on latest achievements, the Minister highlighted vital milestones and ongoing priorities. She committed to urgently addressing the issue of long lasting leadership appointments as well as the shortage of personnel at most check herehere regional workplaces.
Additionally, the Minister highlighted the necessity for Neighborhood-based engagements and outreach routines.
